    All boy!

We didn't have a long time together, but I had many papers to grade.  My hands are better, but it still hurts to put them in hot water and they are starting to peel some.  But I feel vey lucky.

  • Wednesday....finally

I am finished tutoring, so I get to revert to my precious Wednesdays.  I have really missed my lil man.  When I picked him up he asked me what I had for him to snack on.  I told him that I had chips, but nothing but water.  I told him we could stop at the store.  He informed me that playing in his toy room at my house was more important.

  • Woe was me.....

    P2011149.JPG

Yesterday was a bad day.  Well, not compared to some people's bad days, but today is better.  My cell phone finally crumbled a month ago.  I had to replace it.  The new one was slender and sleek and hard to find in my purse.  I was doing my Saturday morning shopping yesterday and I was talking to Angela in K-Mart, went straight to Winn Dixie from there.  I was going to call Candace about something on my grocery list and ...no phone.  I think when I slipped it into my purse, it fell into the cart.  When I got home I tried calling it, thinking it maight be in my car.  It went straight to voice mail without riniging.  The phone company wouldn't tell me the last call made or received on MY OWN PHONE!  It is obvious someone found it and turned it off immediately and probably slipped their sim card into my new phone.  I suspended the service so they can't run my bill up.  But now, I have none of my stored numbers and when people call, they get a recording that "the caller is not taking calls".  I retraced my steps and left my home phone number at both stores.  But the fact that it was already turned off tells me there is a dishonest person running around without a conscience. So, if you are reading this and you have tried to call me, no I am not refusing calls and no I don't have anyone's number memorized.  So please private message me with your numbers.  I got home and Kaya has learned to open the top and bottom of her crate and lock it back.  She was out and I was going to get all over Candace for leaving her out, she chewed up a few things.  I put her up and before I could get to the door she came dancing into the living room.  I went and looked and her crate was locked.  She is mad becuase I am gone from 7am to 9 pm on two days.  Candace works at night, so she is in the crate longer than she likes.  But the little snreak was smart enough to lock it back to cover her tracks!  Now I push something up against it and she can't get out.  I miss getting my Dallas.  Tutoring is over Feb. 23rd, so I can start back getting him.  They start FCAT camp then, which I am not doing.  I spent the afternoon yesterday being angry at some stranger and a smart dog.  This morning in church I prayed for forgiveness to the person with my phone and felt bad for letting something material rob me of my joy.  So today I am at peace....but I still need folks #'s.  My insurance on trhe phone will replace my phone, minus 50 bucks.  I won't get it until Tuesday.  But I am grateful today for peace of mind.

P.S.  Dan and Dallas stopped by one afternoon for a minute....and we had to read a book.

  • Blonde Joke for the City Police

Today at work I found an old RCA remote control on top of a file cabinet.  We have no TV in my office.  My remote for the TV in my bedroom doesn't work, so I stuck it in my purse to take it home and try it out.  Well.......as only could happen to me.

I was driving home for lunch today and I came upon a checkpoint.  Knowing what a mess my purse was in, I started rummaging around to find my liscense.  I found it and still two cars ahead of me I was looking frantically for my insurance card.  I rolled my window down and the policeman asked for my liscense.  I handed it to him.  Then he asked me for proof of insurance.  There were quite a few cars backed up behind me.  I knew it would take some digging.  I looked at him and said "Sir, you would not believe what all I have in this purse."  I had a wad of business cards, library card, pics, membership cards, etc. in my hand riffling through.  He looked at me like "yeah lady, I have heard all the excuses."  I said "If you want me to pull over I can find it, but it may take ten minutes."  He still gave me that look.  So I reached in my purse and the first thing I took out was the rather large TV remote control.  By this time he was struggling to keep a straight face.  He laughed and said "Mam, in all my years of doing this..I have never seen that.  You can go."  He realized I was telling the truth!  I can hear him now back at the station.  You are not going to believe what this blonde pulled out of her purse!  If he had asked me what I was doing with a TV remote in my purse, I would have told him I was hiding it from my husband!!!!  I had a lot of unusual things in my purse if I had to keep digging.  Because of various trips and house sitting I had scissors, flashlight,  and a few other odds and ends.  When I got home I weighed my purse...4.5 pounds.  And yes, for all you practical people, I now have my insurance card in my glove box!!

  • Wednesday..My favorite day of the week!

The kids at his daycare know me now and when I slip in the door they get very excited to tell Dallas his "Nana" is here.  He always runs and jumps in my arms.  I wonder why I like Wednesdays?

  • Still around.....

I have the priveledge of teaching two classes this spring.  One I love dearly and have taught from the heart for 12 years, Classroom Management for Elementary Teachers.  However, St. Leo is starting a middle school program and half my class are middle school majors.  I have to adjust my powerpoints and lectures.  I can handle that.  It is the OTHER class (Cheri, you probably had to take it), I never did.  Educational Governance.  I am house sitting and have not heard a sound for days, except the sound of pages turning.  I think I have all the ism's down.

    essentialism

    existentialism,

    idealism

    perennialism

    postmodernism

    realism

    progressivism

    pragramtism

And that is just the ism's, and just one chapter.  It covers history, law, curriculum, finance, philosophy, organization, and many other things I am trying tolearn before January when I teach it!  I know I'll get it, but what a pain!  No, no...I take it back, what a blessing, what an opportunity.  Pray for me!!  I always panic, but I always get there.

My job is real hard here house sitting...

  • Sunday Morning Moon

    charlie 006

    On this early Sunday morning

    Snuggled warmly in my bed

Two cold wet noses nuzzling me

    Piled upon my head.

    I glanced out the window

    Into the morning sky

I saw the most amazing sight

A beautiful bright round full moon

    And it wasn't even night.

    I glanced at the clock

It was a little past seven

I stood and watched in awe

At a little slice of heaven.

    As clouds drifted across

    Reflections lit the edges

    From the fast rising sun.

    I silently thanked God

    For another beautiful day.
