Today at work I found an old RCA remote control on top of a file cabinet. We have no TV in my office. My remote for the TV in my bedroom doesn't work, so I stuck it in my purse to take it home and try it out. Well.......as only could happen to me.
I was driving home for lunch today and I came upon a checkpoint. Knowing what a mess my purse was in, I started rummaging around to find my liscense. I found it and still two cars ahead of me I was looking frantically for my insurance card. I rolled my window down and the policeman asked for my liscense. I handed it to him. Then he asked me for proof of insurance. There were quite a few cars backed up behind me. I knew it would take some digging. I looked at him and said "Sir, you would not believe what all I have in this purse." I had a wad of business cards, library card, pics, membership cards, etc. in my hand riffling through. He looked at me like "yeah lady, I have heard all the excuses." I said "If you want me to pull over I can find it, but it may take ten minutes." He still gave me that look. So I reached in my purse and the first thing I took out was the rather large TV remote control. By this time he was struggling to keep a straight face. He laughed and said "Mam, in all my years of doing this..I have never seen that. You can go." He realized I was telling the truth! I can hear him now back at the station. You are not going to believe what this blonde pulled out of her purse! If he had asked me what I was doing with a TV remote in my purse, I would have told him I was hiding it from my husband!!!! I had a lot of unusual things in my purse if I had to keep digging. Because of various trips and house sitting I had scissors, flashlight, and a few other odds and ends. When I got home I weighed my purse...4.5 pounds. And yes, for all you practical people, I now have my insurance card in my glove box!!
That was only PART of the stuff in my purse. Time to clean my purse!
I just posted this BENADRYL® Pollen Alert widget for 500 credits. You can earn free credits too!

I have the priveledge of teaching two classes this spring. One I love dearly and have taught from the heart for 12 years, Classroom Management for Elementary Teachers. However, St. Leo is starting a middle school program and half my class are middle school majors. I have to adjust my powerpoints and lectures. I can handle that. It is the OTHER class (Cheri, you probably had to take it), I never did. Educational Governance. I am house sitting and have not heard a sound for days, except the sound of pages turning. I think I have all the ism's down.
essentialism
existentialism,
idealism
perennialism
postmodernism
realism
progressivism
pragramtism
And that is just the ism's, and just one chapter. It covers history, law, curriculum, finance, philosophy, organization, and many other things I am trying tolearn before January when I teach it! I know I'll get it, but what a pain! No, no...I take it back, what a blessing, what an opportunity. Pray for me!! I always panic, but I always get there.
My job is real hard here house sitting...
Isn't that sweet. I have gotten a lot done. They are on a ten day cruise. I'll try to post more often. Hoist my nose out of the book!
On this early Sunday morning
Snuggled warmly in my bed
Two cold wet noses nuzzling me
Piled upon my head.
I glanced out the window
Into the morning sky
I saw the most amazing sight
A beautiful bright round full moon
And it wasn't even night.
I glanced at the clock
It was a little past seven
I stood and watched in awe
At a little slice of heaven.
As clouds drifted across
Reflections lit the edges
From the fast rising sun.
I silently thanked God
For another beautiful day.
No Dallas today.....But...maybe tomorrow. He wasn't feeling well this morning so he stayed home with his mom. I have been trying to read everyone's and stay caught up, but my life has been a little crazy lately with wedding, eight puppies, on-line class I am facilitating, reading a text book anmd writing a syllabus for a course I have never taught or taken! It covers a LOT of stuff. And then my washing machine ate a rug and broke. I put an ad in the paper when the puppies were 6 weeks old since Kaya wasn't able to nurse with the mastitus. The puppies were gone in a day. Basset/lab is a popular mix. Kaya was still having some problems, so with the puppies gone, I took her to the vet with the intent to get her spayed. The Dr. said her problems with still bleeding at six weeks were from her being so small and having so many, such large puppies. Told me to bring her in Monday to get spayed. They called me that afternoon at work....they were all in shock, Kaya was pregnant! She wasn't very far along and they did not think she could handle another litter this soon, so she is now safe. Candace's friend who had the little jack russel that got her the first time came over one day with Ziggy and was only at the house for about ten minutes maybe. They have been together since they were puppies, so they were happy to see each other and chasing each other around....well......the vet said that was a first for her! Kaya is famous again. She did well and is romping through the house all frisky playing with her toys! She isn't even a year old. I am sorry if I haven't had time to respond to people, but I have been reading.
After we ran a few errands, had ice cream from Dairy Queen, we watched Stuart Little 2.
Dallas was trying to play with the last puppy....with Kaya watching carefully.
Kaya finally relaxed and watched TV with Dallas as Baby Girl snoozed.
He sure loves puppies.
He was so excited when I picked hi up from the playground at daycare, he came charging!
